Family S. - Foss Farm, Carlisle, MA

Late November I had a chance to take pictures of little cutie pie named Layla and her sweet family. Layla was turning 1 and the intention was to take her 1-year photos as well as family pictures during their session. By family I mean the immediate family but this time also the extended family with grandparents and an auntie.

"I called Christina to set up a relatively last minute extended family photo shoot just before Thanksgiving.  I hadn't really thought through any of the details other than we'd have out of town family all in town at the same time.  When we met to talk through the process, Christina was fantastic in listening to what I was looking for and immediately had some ideas of locations.  She provided some ideas of good color options, since I'm helpless when it comes to that and had no ideas walking into our meeting.  After our meeting, I felt confident that we were in good hands, and trusted that Christina would help us through the entire process."

"The session was cold and windy, but that's what you get in late November!  Christina managed the entire session well, and gave us breaks to warm up quickly before the next photos.  She came to the session with clear ideas and talked us through everything.  With a one year old, you never know what you're going to get, but Christina talked us through the different poses and all of them worked really well and Layla (by some miracle) cooperated."

"Once we got the whole family there, Christina was very efficient in moving through the multitude of photo combinations which helped minimize the time everyone was out in the cold and wind.  She even brought some warm apple cider to help everyone warm up after the photos were over.  We left the session feeling really great about the photos Christina captured and were anxiously awaiting the email telling us our photos were ready!"

"We were so excited to see the first couple sneak peek photos pop up on Christina's Facebook page, and couldn't wait to see the rest. Even though it was a busy time of year with everyone's holiday photos, Christina still got our pictures to us quickly.  It was even in time for us to get them onto our holiday cards!"

"We were thrilled with the quality of the photos.  Layla's pictures turned out so adorable - Christina captured so many special little moments and facial expressions.  The photos of the extended family turned out incredible - it shows how much love there is in this family.  We'll cherish these photos for a long time to come!"

Hearing back from a happy client is my driving force! I love what I do. I love to create family treasures as well as memories. In addition of having their family pictures taken, this family will forever remember how bitterly cold and windy it was that day but they were such troopers all of them. Thank you Family S. for letting me take your pictures!

Happy mail

I'm still trying to recover from our Christmas break. HAH! It was a bit of a shock to go from three adults for 7 weeks to one adult in time of only few days. Reality strikes hard. My husband travels quite a lot because of his work and has started his travels for this year. My mother also left back to her own home in Finland. So sad to say goodbye to her every single time and it seems harder each time. There are times I really wish we had one of those transporters they have in Star Trek. Would come super handy in my family! (All of our family is in Europe and that is way too far away.)  But things are getting back to normal. I'm getting back to normal.

I got some absolutely stunning mail during the holiday season. The best kind for a photographer. They made me extremely happy. I wanted to show you as well.

Some of my clients from 2016 sent me their holiday cards. You have no idea how wonderful it was to see pictures I've taken proudly portrayed in these families holiday greetings to their families and friends. Truly warmed my heart and I felt so privileged that I had been chosen to take their pictures.

I know of at least three other families that used my pictures in their cards this Christmas but I have not seen them. And I'm wishing there were more as well. I want to thank all my past clients last year and I hope to see you soon again.

Our Christmas break

Happy New Year to you all! I hope you all had a relaxing break. I know the time leading up to the holidays can be extremely hectic and stressful. All the running around getting ready with the hustle and bustle. I get anxious just thinking about it. Luckily all that is behind us for another year.

This was our Family's Christmas greeting this year.

We had a wonderful time as a family. My mother is visiting us from Finland and spent the Christmas time with us. Our girls have been so happy to have her here. My husband was able to take some time off from work and get the much needed break as well.

Our girls made some gingerbread cookies. This has become a tradition for them before Christmas.

We had no plans to do anything special. Just spend time together and wind down. Breathe. And it was very much needed. Sometimes you just need to be. Nothing else.

We watched films together. We played games. We built legos. We started our yearly big puzzle. We had naps. We read. We ate goodies...... way too much. We were outside.

And now New Year is here. New challenges ahead of us all I'm sure. I sure feel energized and ready to keep going. I decided to be gentle to myself and leave all kinds of resolutions this year. However, I've been writing a list of things I'd like to do/improve both in my personal life as well as my photography business. We will see what year brings along this list in mind.

I hope you all have a lovely start to the year! Hugs!

Going.... going.... GONE!

It's time to think Christmas/Holiday cards! I know. It's a horrifying thought that we're nowhere near Christmas and yet it's lurking there surprisingly close. And when you start thinking about Christmas time, inevitably there's the "monster" of thought of cards which will have to be done and sent.

I can help you! You can help yourself! Taking action and booking a family session now will guarantee that you will have beautiful pictures for your cards. And most importantly for you home!
